The children really enjoyed their sports day, and they all did brilliantly. Thank you to the parents who helped raise funds by buying raffle tickets and making a donation for the refreshments provided by the committee. Don't forget bags featuring the childrens artwork will be on sale for £5 each or 3 for £12 from now they have all been sold. Please see a member of staff if you are interested in buying some.
At the end of this year our Treasurer, Jo Upshall, will be stepping down after many years of service. So we need to find someone who can take on the role. This has usually been a parent of a pre-school child but it can be anyone from the local community that could carry out the role. The person would need to have a DBS check and become a Trustee of the pre-school charity. It is a voluntary (not a paid) position.
The role requires someone who is numerate and is familiar with Excel Spreadsheets but does not need to have had any book-keeping experience. Systems are in place and the Treasurer works in conjunction with other committee members regarding investments and savings. If you would be interested in taking on the role or have a parent or friend who would be suitable please can you let me know. If you require more information about the role please also contact me. This is not an onerous task just an hour or so a week with a few hours once a year to prepare the accounts for external examination by an accountant. It would be nice to have someone in place by the end of the pre-school year for starting in September. Treasurer duties: General financial oversight Overseeing investments and savings Producing regular updates to forecast figures Presenting forecasts and accounts at committee meetings ( a 5 minute run through of the forecast spreadsheet) Preparing annual accounts for external independent examination prior to Charity Commission submission Present accounts at AGM (again a 5 minute overview of the accounts for the year) Liaising with staff and committee about financial matters Ensure appropriate financial systems are in place Ensure compliance with relevant legislation Manage bank accounts Bank reconciliation each month Ensure proper records are kept We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jo for all her work for the pre-school over the last few years. The children have worked very hard, drawing their faces and these have been put on a lovely shopping bag. The bags are on sale for £5 each or 3 for £12. Please speak to a member of staff if you would like to buy some. They make great gifts and memento's of your childs time at the Pre School.

Thank you ![]() During our weekly visit to Reception, we made a giant birds nest using logs, leaves and sticks. We were pretending that we were birds hatching out of their eggs and flying the nest. We have recently have been exploring different materials and textures. We had great fun creating collages and sorting materials into groups.
We had a fantastic day on Saturday when we held our very first Easter Egg Hunt. The turnout was amazing, and we are so grateful to you all that came and supported us, or contributed to the event in some way. It was lovely to see so many people having such a lovely time, and the Common packed with families enjoying the glorious weather that we were so lucky to have. We are still totalling up what we made, but it is fair to say that the final amount will have made all the hard work in putting the event together worth it. Thank you once again. We hope to post some pictures when we have tracked down those that took some!
We are pleased to announce that Hyde Heath Pre-School has achieved the Smile Award Plus+ accreditation. To achieve the award our snack menu, policies and procedures have been reviewed by the Buckinghamshire Oral Health Improvement team. All staff have attended training on how to prevent dental decay and erosion, good hygiene practices, healthy eating for all and understanding food labels. We have also worked in partnership with parents to promote and encourage oral health care through teeth brushing. Don't forget the Easter Egg Hunt on the Common this Saturday 2.00 -4.00 in aid of Hyde Heath Pre School. The forecast says it is going to be warm and sunny, so should be wonderful being in the great outdoors. Lovely cakes and drinks can be purchased afterwards and pocket money games etc to enjoy. Wellies are advised due to the amount of rain we have had this week! We hope to see you tomorrow afternoon.
